Q: What is the River Rafting and Camping Season in
Rishikesh?
A: The season is from October till June. River rafting is a winter
sport.
Q: What is the best time to go for River Rafting in
Rishikesh?
A: November till February is the best time as the temperatures are
right to enjoy wholde day - playing beach games, trekking, rafting
as well as making the best of Bonfire late in the
evenings.
Q: What are the packages for Camping and Rafting?
A: Packages include meals, Rafting, Bonfire, tea/ coffee and snacks
along with some activities like beach games, etc. The regular
packages are for 1N/2D and 2N/3D.
Q: What are the rafting Charges?
A: Some camps do offer only rafting as an option and charge
anything from 400Rs/- to 900/- Rs for 10, 16, 24 or 35 Kms Rafting
in Ganges. Its ok for those who are short on time.
Q: Are all Rishikesh rafting operators licensed, certified and
trained?
A: No, its important to check and ensure that you are in safe hands
before you put your life at risk.
Q: What kind of rapids are there?
A: Rapids are graded on their difficulty levels. From Marine Drive
till Rishikesh there are some 12 Rapids rated low to morderate,
which means fit for all ages. Kids and elderly are not allowed as
this activity by its very nature takes much effort.
Q: What safety precautions one needs to take while going on River
Rafting in Ganges?
A: Ensure that your rafting guides are licensed, certified and
experienced. Always work on the rafting guides instructions and
take his words seriously. Always wear safety gear on all times. In
case of mishaps, your guide can help and save you, only if he is
good at what he is doing. Don't value money over life.
Q: What is good about Beach Hideout?
A: Years into operations - Largest and most exclusive beach camp.
Largest Beach front, Great Location at Marine drive. Licensed,
certified and much experienced guides. Being on the other side of
the river, it is away from noise and perfectly secure. Food and
services are great. Beautiful surrounding, treks nearby and beach
games with add on package options make it a great getaway for
family, friends, corporates and groups.
Q: What is the location of Beach Hideout:
A: Marine Drive - 24 Kms ahead of Rishikesh on NH-58. Once you
cross Gullar Bridge, a short distance on you will see our board on
the right hand side and the camps will be visible on the other side
of the river.
Q: What is the distance between Delhi and Rishikesh?
A: Some 250 Kms. The camps are 24 Kms beyond Rishikesh (Laxman
Jhoola).
Q: How much time will it take to reach camps from
Delhi?
A: Start early and you can reach in 5-6 hours. Start late and it
might take 7-10 hours depending on traffic and other
conditions.
Q: What are the packages at Beach Hideout?
A: Standard packages are - 1N/2D and 2N/3D which cost Rs.2000/- and
Rs.3000/- respectively. These include 24 Kms rafting from our beach
camps till Rishikesh, 3/6 meals, Tea/Coffee/Snacks, bonfire, beach
games, trekking and overnight stay1N/2N in beach camps. There are
other packages for camping and rafting separately.
Q: Where can we park our vehicle?
A: When you reach the camp board, just park your vehicle next to
the borad itself. The parking space is more than enough to
accommodate 5 mid coaches.
Q: Is it secure?
A: Your vehicle is perfectly secure. Ensure its parked with head
lights facing the camp, is properly locked and hand break is
on.
Q: Can kids gor for rafting?
A: NO - Its not safe for kids. the permitted age is 18 and above
only.
Q: Is it safe for families?
A: It is great place to enjoy nature and we love to book holidays
for families. The beach camps are on the other side of the river
and noone can come in till we send in the rafts, hence its
perfectly safe. We do not entertain rowdy crowd and maintain peace
and decorum, so you can enjoy your holiday is peace and harmony
with your family.
Q: What is the booking process?
A: You will need to pay 50% advance by netbanking, cash transfer,
cheque or by cash to get confirmation on your bookings. The balance
amount is paid at the camp to the camp manager.
Q: What about Meals?
A: The meals are homely, hygenic and fresh. You get Breakfast,
Lunch and Dinner along with tea,coffee and snacks. There is ample
for everybody and served hot from our kitchen. The vegetables,
spices and most ingredients are sourced from the nearby villages
and you will be amazed by the freshness and taste.
Q: What about Water?
A: The camp uses filtered water for all purposed. Its perfectly
safe and hygenic. If you want packaged water bottles, you can bring
along.
Q: What about toilets and washrooms?
A: These are located in a separate area near the camps, with options of India, European toilets and washrrom tents with water facility. Hot water is provided for bathing on request.
Q: Why don't you offer attached bathrooms?
A: No beach camp offers that as all the waste will go into the river and that is not the right thing to do. Hence we have those in separate areas which is both convenient and eco friendly.
Q. Are these luxury Camps?
A: These are swiss camps - Comfortable, double lined, waterproof -
12*12, with two beds, accommodating 2 people. We put in a 3rd bed
if you are bringing a kid or 2. Camping is certainly not a luxury,
but when you go out of your camp, there is more than you will ever
find in the hectic sressful lifestyle.
Q: Is there a DJ?
A: We can arrange on request.
Q: What is the best activity to do out there?
A: Relax. Do nothing. Watch the river. Hear the river. Rejuvenate your soul and when u have had enough celebrate life under the beautiful diamond studded sky, with snacks, bonfire and company of friends.
Q: What to wear and carry?
A: Carry the basics and wear easy casual wear. Luggage will make
travel difficult. Keep stuff in a small bag. Carry sun screen
lotion with good spf rating. A torch and cap will do
great.
Q: Do we get soft drinks at the Camp?
A: No. You will need to buy on the way and bring
along.
Q: What about Cigarettes and Liqour?
A: You will need to buy and bring your own. Remember, decorum is a
very important aspect to our services. We do not allow any kind of
lewd conduct on our premises. Decency is a must have.
Q: Is there electricity?
A: The camps are within the territory of Raja Ji National Park,
hence access to electricity is not allowed. However we have limited
access.
Q: How to charge Phones?
A: Keep your phones on limited use, but if you need a charge then
we have electricity. Switch off during nights for maximum utility.
If possible carry a solar charger, car charger to keep it juiced on
the way.
Q: Is there a phone network?
A: Yes
Q: Is it safe to swim in the river on my own?
A: Yes, inform the manager, wear the jacket and safety gear before
you get into the river.
Q: Is there a discount?
A: It is possible to lower prices and offer discounts only if we
reduce the services and quality. We choose to say NO as we prefer
to offer only good services and best in quality to all or
guests.
Q: I want to do Bunjee Jumping?
A: Book with us.
Q: What kind of trekking is available at Beach
Hideout?
A: There are 2 separate treks going in opposite directions to
villages on the mountain above. The treks are paved, low to
moderate in intensity and fit for all ages.
Q: Is Cliff Jumping included in the package?
A: Yes, its possible to do that during rafting. Tell your
guide.
Q: Is Body Surfing included?
A: It is a free to do activity during rafting. Let your guide know
and he will assist you.
Q: Is there a corporate discount?
A: Discounts are only for large groups that book 40 or more camps
in one go. It is not possible to offer discounts on groups of 5, 10
or 15 people.
Q: What can we see at Rishikesh?
A: Walk around Laxman Jhoola or Ram Jhoola, Visit Chotiwala
restaurant, visit temples, ghat or go for Neelkanth Shiv Mandir
which is 12 Kms one way by local taxi available at
stand.
Q: We will reach by night, how to cross river?
A: After sunset its unsafe to cross river. Reach maximum by 5/6Pm
to get transported across the river.
